The Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre, also known as the Adelaide Youth Training Centre, is South Australia’s only youth detention centre — and the ABC has been granted rare, restricted access inside the secure facility ahead of the opening of a new 12-bed accommodation unit later this year.
