A pet shop in Queensland has made a desperate CCTV appeal for the return of a guinea pig allegedly stolen from the store.

The small pet, named “Nibbles”, was last seen being picked up by a woman at Capalaba Produce in Chandler, Brisbane, on July 4.

In an effort to find Nibbles the store shared CCTV on Facebook, which shows a woman appear to slip the guinea pig into her pocket and walk off.

“Someone came into our store and must have thought Nibbles was a bit cold, so they put them in their jumper to warm up never to be seen again,” the store wrote.

“Can you help us find Nibbles or the person who helped warm Nibbles up?”

It’s understood police have not received a report of shoplifting at this stage.
