On Sunday 7News Spotlight looks at the Olympic Games “on steroids” plus an interview with Crowded House.

Welcome to a controversial new competition where elite athletes put their bodies on the line, using the drugs banned by the International Olympic Committee to make them stronger and faster.

While the Olympics are supposed to be drug free, most Aussie athletes will tell you they’ve knowingly gone up against competitors using performance enhancing drugs and that the practice is rife.

The Enhanced Games, a new, annual televised event created by Aron D’Souza and his billionaire investors, will encourage doping and promises to smash world records by pushing the human body to its drug-fuelled limit.

International athletes will compete for themselves across only five disciplines – track and field, swimming, gymnastics, combat and weightlifting – with huge cash rewards on offer.

Join 7NEWS Spotlight from Paris this Sunday at 9.00pm on Channel 7 and 7plus as Sarah Greenhalgh and Michael Usher meet the critics of – and converts to – this radical idea.

They are poolside with Australian Olympic champion James “The Missile” Magnussen, the first athlete to sign up to The Enhanced Games and once the fastest man in the water, to see firsthand how his training regime is going. Olympic legends Raelene Boyle and Leisel Jones share their views.

Will there be a time in our near sporting future where Australians will be cheering knowingly for drug-taking athletes?

Also on 7NEWS Spotlight, Crowded House like you have never seen them before: an exclusive sit down with the legendary band who have one very big announcement.

And the man who could be protecting our kids from online predators but was stopped by Meta. 7NEWS Spotlight sits down with him for an interview all parents need to see.

Sunday at 9.00pm on Seven.
