Global powerhouse Celine Dion has been spotted outside a hotel in Paris amid mounting speculation she will perform during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

The Grammy-winning icon was dressed in a loose suit and white shirt as she met with fans outside the Royal Monceau Hotel.

It would mark the first performance for the 56-year-old since she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in December 2022.

Dion shared her struggles with the syndrome in the “I Am Celine Dion” documentary last month.

According to local media reports, French President Emmanuel Macron said he would be “immensely happy” if the French Canadian star would perform at the ceremony.

Officials have remained tight-lipped on announcing who will perform at the opening ceremony, with Lady Gaga also rumoured to make an appearance.

The Paris Olympics opening ceremony will take place on Saturday at 4.24am AEST.
