A 93-year-old driver has ploughed into a church foyer south of Adelaide, with the pastor claiming it was a miracle no one was injured.

The elderly man, who is a member of the congregation, is believed to have accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake when he crashed into ClearVision Church in Bellevue Heights.

He reversed into a fence before smashing through the building while a dozen people, including children, were inside.

“It was a mighty roar, it genuinely sounded like a rocket taking off,” church pastor Scott told 9News.

The driver suffered minor injuries but no one else was injured.

The holy community is counting its blessings.

”It was genuinely a miracle no one was hit because we could’ve been in the line of fire,” Scott said.

“Just stepped about three or four paces to my right and, as I did, that the car came through right where I had been standing,” churchgoer Paul Brailey said.

The 93-year-old will be fined about three hundred dollars for driving without proper control.
