A team of Australian scientists have built a Moon Rover to join NASA’s mission to the moon in 2028.

NASA asked Australian robotics experts at Arose to produce a lunar rover, and they responded with “Roover.”

The rover is a solar-powered four-wheel drive, which is remotely controlled by scientists in Perth.

The rover also features a pocket-sized backhoe.

Arose Lead Engineer Dr Sarah Cannard said the scientific marvel put Australian scientists on the “world stage”.

“Having this lunar rover host a NASA payload demonstrates to the world what we are capable of,” she said.

Arose CEO Leanne Cunnold called the Aussie rover a “massive deal”.

“It’s a massive deal, just pause for a second…Australia is going to the moon!”

Video feeds from Roover’s multiple cameras will be transmitted back to Earth.
