The victim, 23, was allegedly punched and stabbed multiple times and left unconscious on the ground.

He was taken to hospital by a friend after suffering serious injuries.

Footage showed another man who tried to stop the fight was thrown to the ground and left with blood dripping from his face.

On Tuesday morning, warrants were executed at two properties in Tarneit, 25km west of Melbourne, and arrested a 39-year-old man.

The arrest follows an incident which took place in Windsor on August 13.

Police allege the man attempted to enter a store on Chapel Street about 11.15pm.
