A NSW man discovered he is now a multi-millionaire after checking his lottery ticket while on the toilet.
The Powerball winner, from Taree on the mid-north coast, had missed a few phone calls over the weekend before he finally looked at his $4.6 million winning ticket.
“I was actually sitting on the toilet when I checked my ticket,” the man told The Lott.

“I showed my wife and we started googling the numbers to see if it was really true. It’s come at the most amazing time.”
The lucky Powerball ticket has netted the man $4,681,528,85 after his numbers were the only division-one winning entry in the draw on August 29.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1476 on Thursday were 12, 21, 6, 15, 9, 34 and 20. The all-important Powerball number was 15.
Once he pockets the money, the winner said he plans to help out a struggling mate.
“I’ve got a good mate that I’m going to help out. We’ve both been through some really tough times together,” he said .
“I’ll be seeing him later in the week so I can’t wait to tell him. Thank you so much. This is life-changing.”
