Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papali’i is being investigated by police over an incident in Canberra earlier this week, which has also been referred to the NRL integrity unit.

Police were called to the Raiders Leagues Club in Gungahlin about 3.10am on Monday for two men who were “behaving aggressively, smashing glasses, and refusing to leave”.

Policed forced Papali’i, who was there with his family, and another man to leave the venue.

Police said the pair came back to the club shortly later.

“A third member of the group escorted the two men out of the premises again, and they departed the location a short time later,” Australian Capital Territory Policing said.

Police are continuing to investigate the matter. No charges have been laid.

Canberra Raiders said the club had informed the NRL integrity unit of the matter.

“The Canberra Raiders are aware of an incident involving Josh Papalii,” the club said.

“Josh and others were asked to leave a Licenced premises in the early hours of Monday morning following attendance by ACT Police.”
