Another cast member from acclaimed Foxtel drama Tangle has called for a series revival.
The Foxtel series ran for three seasons from 2009 – 2012, starring Justine Clarke, Kat Stewart, Ben Mendelsohn, Catherine McClements, but has since had wider exposure through Netflix and Prime Video.
Actor Lincoln Younes, who played Romeo Kovac, tells TV Tonight, “Do you how much I’ve been pitching this every year? I would love that to come back. I think they could do ’10 Years On’ as a fourth season. Because I do feel like it was cut short.”
Younes, now starring in Last King of the Cross (pictured) was just a teenager when he featured as sibling to Georgia Flood.
“I was just 16, and each season was a year and a half later. So it was a while ago. I went to the Logies recently, and I ran into a lot of old Tangle creatives. We had a bit of a nostalgic catch up, which was nice,” he said.
Now aged 32, he is old enough to portray a young father himself.
“Completely… and kind of be struggling with some version of Vince, who Ben Mendelsohn played, and those fathering skills, whether he goes with them or not.”
The series co-produced by John Edwards and Imogen Banks, also featured Joel Tobeck, Matt Day, Blake Davis, Kick Gurry, Jane Allsop and more.
John Edwards recently told TV Tonight, “It’s funny. I was talking to somebody in the UK earlier this week – the head of a very big company- and they were talking about Tangle being their favourite Australian series. It helped this person define what a commercially viable relationship drama should be. It should be ‘a bunch of really good looking, middle class people, who are good actors, behaving appallingly!’”
Producer Imogen Banks (Fake, Safe Home, RFDS, Offspring) recently told podcast TV Reload, “I literally got a text about an hour ago from John Brawley, who was our DOP on Tangle, saying “Tangle series 4?” We could just tune into their lives now!”
“I love, love Lincoln and see him at all sorts of things. He’s such a divine human, Georgia Flood … most of have gone on to keep working,” Banks added.
In a further podcast, Kat Stewart said she had been pestering producers a fourth season for some time.
“I would do ‘Nat Manning’ again in a heartbeat. I loved doing that show. It was a dream cast…. (Nat’s) so naughty. Justine Clarke & Catherine McClements, I’m such massive fans of them. And also the kids have grown up and done amazing things.”
Lincoln Younes says he will keep campaigning for a show revival.
“Done! Tangle season four!”
