In 1982, a year after Mel Gibson and Mark Lee starred in Gallipoli, Scott Burgess and Scott McGregor starred in ABC’s historical miniseries 1915.
The 7 part colonial series, written by Peter Yeldham, which centred around the friendship between two young mates during the outbreak of World War I.
It featured a who’s who of performers including Bill Hunter, Lorraine Bayly, Sigrid Thornton, (a very young) Jackie Woodburne, Ilona Rodgers, Richard Moir, Serge Lazareff, Arna-Maria Winchester, Anne Haddy, Gerard Kennedy, Maurie Fields, Maggie Blinco, Martin Vaughan, Nell Schofield, Adrian Wright, Mark Hembrow and Andrew McFarlane.
While reviews were somewhat mixed it went on to win two Logies including Best Miniseries or Telemovie.
