A man allegedly wielding two machetes has been arrested following a tense stand-off with police.
Police were called to a property on Erin Street in Richmond, east Melbourne, about 9.30pm overnight following reports a man was damaging his home with machetes.
The man, 47, was described as “agitated” and a critical response team was called in to negotiate with him for several hours.

Footage obtained by 9News shows officers asking the man to leave the home without any weapons.
The area was locked down and after a long stand-off with officers, the man left the property and was arrested.

He was then taken to hospital for assessment.
No-one was injured during the incident and police said there is no ongoing threat to the area.
