The husband of Frances Crawford has been arrested over her death, months after she was found dead at her Queensland home next to a ride-on lawn mower.

Ms Crawford, 49, was found dead at the bottom of a retaining wall alongside the mower after emergency services were called to the Upper Lockyer property about 3.40am on July 30.

Police announced last week that they believed the prominent psychologist had been murdered.

This morning, police arrested her husband Robert Crawford, 47, who is a Royal Australian Air Force pilot.

Police had earlier said that Mr Crawford is believed to have been the last person to see his wife alive and was assisting police with the investigation.

Last Friday, Detective Superintendent George Marchesini said Mr Crawford is believed to have been involved in relationships with multiple women outside his marriage.

“Mr Crawford may have met these women on dating applications, and through his personal and professional life,” Marchesini said

“Investigations have revealed Mr Crawford has connected with women in Italy, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Afghanistan, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.”

Women in multiple countries who had been in contact with Mr Crawford came forward after the police appeal.

“Detectives can confirm a number of people have provided information since our last public appeal and thank those people for their bravery in coming forward,” police said.

Marchesini said police were conducting an “open investigation” but were not looking for anyone else.

Police said their investigation was continuing, with no charges yet laid over the death.
