When the bus driver refused, he allegedly jumped into the driver’s seat and tried to start the bus, but failed.

That’s when the bus driver called police.

Officers asked the man to leave the bus but he allegedly refused.

South Australian police described the man as “agitated”.

They then tried to remove him from the seat, when he allegedly punched two officers in the head repeatedly.

Officers then tried to capsicum spray him to get him to stop, however, he continued to try and drive the bus away, SA Police said.

More police arrived and a third officer was allegedly kicked in the head and suffered a split lip.

He was pepper sprayed again, when he was finally able to be removed from the bus and arrested.

The 28-year-old man was taken to hospital for a medical assessment before being charged.

He is expected to be charged with four counts of assaulting an emergency worker, attempting illegal use and resisting arrest.

Two police officers were taken to hospital for treatment, one with an eye injury and the other with a head injury.
