A former contestant on Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains is suing producers Endemol Shine Australia.

The Sunday Herald Sun reports Jackie Glazier has launched legal action in the Victorian Supreme Court after sustaining an injury from a challenge on the 2023 season filmed in Samoa.

She is seeking damages, loss of past and future earnings, and medical expenses after she broke her collarbone while hurling herself over a huge, rotating cube and smashing into the bottom of a muddy, shallow pit on the other side.

Fellow contestant George Mladenov was also injured in the same challenge, whilst Glazier departed the show and paid $25,000 for her time.

In a Statement of Claim, filed by law firm Arnold Thomas & Becker, alleges the water in the cube challenge pit at 30cm was not deep enough, and that the dirt at the bottom of the pit had not been sufficiently broken up to provide a safe landing.

As well as suffering a broken collarbone, the injury to Glazier’s right shoulder also included ligament damage and resulted in the development of thoracic outlet syndrome and pain and restriction of movement of her right shoulder and arm.

Glazier, a World Series Poker Player, previously participated in 2018’s Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders.

Endemol Shine Australia has been contacted for comment.
