A toddler is fighting for life after being hit by a car in front of her family at a crossing in south-east Melbourne.
The three-year-old girl was with her family at a pedestrian crossing on Heatherton Road in Endeavour Hills about 8.30am today.
It’s believed she ran ahead of elderly family members and was hit by a Toyota.

She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The toddler remains at the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
“It’s a very difficult scene to deal with today, anything involving children is quite devastating,” Detective Sergeant Roslyn Wilson told reporters today.
The driver of the car, a 24-year-old male, stopped at the scene and is speaking with police.

Police are still investigating how the collision happened and urged anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
Residents have told 9News the 80-kilometre stretch of road is dangerous as the crossing is at the bottom of a hill.
“I’ve been here 35 years and I’ve seen constant accidents on this road,” resident Andrew Braslis said.
“The traffic as you can see comes down at high speed and as you can see some of them stop some of them don’t,” another resident, Joe Maruzza, said.
