A recall has been issued for almost 6,000 RAM Trucks over fears that a software fault in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) could cause crashes.

Trucks in the 1500DT model are affected, with 5916 trucks in total called back.

A software issue with the ABS could interfere with the Electronic Stability Control, which helps with steering, and cause a loss of vehicle control.

The safety warning issued by the federal government’s Department of Infrastructure and Transport said all owners should contact their local RAM dealer.

There, they can have their ABS software updated for free.

The affected models are all from the year 2023-2024.

A similar recall for the RAM Truck’s ABS system was issued in July.

Another recall for the RAM 1500DT was made in September, over fears the airbags could fail to deploy in the event of a crash.
