The balcony of a Sydney CBD apartment is being offered as a “room” to rent online.
The post on Facebook Marketplace advertises a “sunny room” in Haymarket.
However, the pictures show the “room” is actually an enclosed balcony, equipped with blinds, a couple of rugs, a single bed, and a chest of drawers.

The sliding doors into the apartment proper appear to be see-through.
“Share bathroom with only 1 ppl,” the advertiser wrote.
“Ready to move in now. Easy to go anywhere.”
And the price? A tidy $360 a week, “including bills”.

Sydney’s median rent remained at a record high of $750 a week in the 2024 June quarter, recent data from Domain found.
However, increases have slowed or halted around Australia as market factors shift in the favour of tenants, including increased rental availability, slowing demand, and declining migration.
“We recognise the challenges renters have been facing, so it’s encouraging to observe our latest data showing easing rental conditions,” Domain research and economics chief Dr Nicola Powell said.
